My LG 34UM94-P Monitor is running in all its 3440x1440 glory!!!! I rebooted and then opened System Preferences/Displays -chose the "Scaled" option and there was the 3440x1440 resolution at the top of the list. Ran the KextBeast program and it installed the file exactly where it is suppose to be. Copied the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext file to my desktop.

Best monitor for mac mini late 2012 install#
Next I did another fresh install of Yosemite. Since I didn't have a Mavericks Time Machine backup - I did a fresh install of Mavericks then copied the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext file to an external drive. kext files) and run KextBeast to install that file into Yosemite. Next downloading a program called KextBeast (installs. Many of the posts/solutions that I read recommended copying the file: AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext (contains video/res/buffer settings?) from a Mavericks Time Machine backup. I have a Mac Mini Late 2012, 16GB ram, 2.6GHz, Intel core i7, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB. Re: Yosemite not supporting 3440x1440 resolutionin response to Ti_teuf

Since that strangely, tis resolution was supported in Mavericks and NOT Yosemite Have found this post about Mac Mini late 2012 ( as mine ) and 3440*1440 res. Here some screen shots of my working space : It can handle up to 2560x1600 via the TB port and up to 1920x1200 via HDMI. The 2012 mini has thunderbolt 1 and does not support 4k resolutions. TB 2 supports display port 1.2 and provides the bandwidth for 4k resolutions. Or iiyama-ProLite-XB3070WQS-B1 around 720 €Ībout 27’, the new Dell U2715H seems nice with a good ration price/quality ( around 600 $ )īut once again, what about the legibility ? With a bigger screen, i’m not sure that I’ll keep the second monitor by the way. I’m afraid that with 27’ 2560*1440, LPX objects and especially fonts begin to be too small. I wonder if 30’ is maybe too much, although it’s ok about pixel/inches I plan to expand the main working area to 2560*1440 ( usually 27’ screen ) or 2560*1600 ( 30’ ). Second screen : a weird old Terra very bad looking but I don’t care, good enough for LPX Mixer or some open plugs. Perfect ! Image good enough for LPX, 3 Usb port ( 2.0 ) good ratio pixel/inches. Main screen : 24' Dell u2412M plugged in Mac Mini late 2012 display port. I need some report if you have big screen
